Olisto integrations for Egardia & Hue

Objective

Egardia wanted to connect their alarmsystems to Hue lights in order to make their alarmsystem smarter.  Together with Philips Hue they wanted to launch a package deal with the Egarda alarmsystem + Hue starterskit. Having these two connected would result in the use case where your Hue lights would create more safety for your house.  Egardia and Philips had a deadline of 4 weeks for the launch of this campaign so time was limited. Egardia did not have the necessary resources and knowledge for this project so they came to us for help.

Solution

For Egardia it was important that their users were not forced to use a 3rd party app for this use case / connection. So we decided to build the Olisto integration in the Egardia app. Once logged in the Egardia app, users were asked to connect their Hue lights and activate the triggs.

Olisto was made invisible and the user thinks he is using Egardia triggs. The Olisto software was integrated in the Egardia app with the ‘rule’ technology.

Results

Within the deadline of 4 weeks we delivered the integration for Egardia. The connection between Hue lights and Egardia alarmsystem was succesfully made with two bundles of triggs visible in the Egardia app. We created the ‘presence simulator’ bundle that will control your lights when your away + the ‘scare off burglars bundle’ that will blink red bright warning lights in case of alarm. After the success of the integration Egardia asked us to connect them als a channel to our platform in addition. This would provide them simple access to the Olisto platform with many more smart products and services, next to the ability to test new triggs before integrating them.
